Watch the tallships arriving to Klaipeda on our website!

2011.03.21

The official website of The Culture 2011 Tall Ships Regatta has launched the section of the website that will represent the ships arriving to Klaipeda at 18th of August, 2011. The list of the tallships which is to be constantly renewed will present the basic data on the regatta participants, their bios, and mottos, as well as links to the tallships websites.

The Regatta is open to any monohull vessel of more than 9.14m water line length and that the vessel meets Sail Training International’s safety equipment requirements. There are four classes of vessel:

Class A - All square–rigged vessels (barque, barquentine, brig, brigantine or ship rigged) and all other vessel more than 40 metres Length Overall (LOA), regardless of rig; Class B - traditionally rigged vessels (ie gaff rigged sloops, ketches, yawls and schooners) with an LOA of less than 40 metres; Class C - modern rigged vessels (i.e Bermudan rigged sloops, ketches, yawls and schooners) with an LOA of less than 40 metres and not carrying spinnaker-like sails; Class D - modern rigged vessels (i.e Bermudan rigged sloops, ketches, yawls and schooners) with an LOA of less than 40 metres and with a waterline length (LWL) of at least 9.14 metres carrying spinnaker-like sails.

The tallships represented in our website are split according to their classes, so take a chance to read about the ships, which you would be able to see live in Klaipeda from August 18th, 2011!
